Effect of Different Organic Sources of Nutrients on Quality and Economics of Ashwagandha [Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal]

The present investigation entitled Effect of different organic sources nutrients on quality and economics ashwagandha [Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal] was carried out during Kharif 2021-22 at College Farm, Horticulture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Jagudan, Dist. Mehsana, Gujarat. Experiment laid in randomized block design with three replications twenty treatments viz., T1: 100% RDN through FYM; T2: Vermicompost; T3: Neem cake; T4: Poultry manure; T5: 80% T6: T7: T8: T9: 60% T10: T11: T12: T13: FYM + Azotobacter KSM PSB; T14: Vermicompost T15: cake+ T16: manure T17: T18: T19: cake T20: PSB. Maximum chlorophyll a, b total 90 DAS (at full bloom stage) (1.92, 0.75 2.11 mg/g, respectively) withanolides content (0.32%) harvest were recorded treatment T16. maximum net income (₹ 1,38,707/ha) benefit cost ratio (3.52) also obtained same treatment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application poultry PSB (T16) found beneficial for obtaining higher yield better economic returns ashwagandha.
